Lessons
Your buddy with the roofing company says ChatGPT writes all his estimates now. Your nephew says it will replace everyone. Somewhere in between is the truth — and you can’t use this tool well until you understand what it actually is.
This course kills the mystery in plain language. ChatGPT is a prediction machine, not a brain: it sounds exactly as confident when it’s wrong, so you’ll learn which jobs to hand it (drafting, transforming, organizing, thinking out loud) and the brief-draft-verify loop that keeps you out of trouble.
Then the setup: which plan a business should actually buy (and why the Business tier wins even for a solo operator), the ten-minute privacy pass — training switch, MFA, Memory, custom instructions — and what really happens to your data on consumer vs. business accounts. You’ll tour the five features that earn their keep — Projects, custom GPTs, file analysis, connectors and company knowledge, search and deep research — and the shiny ones to ignore.
You’ll learn the three-part brief tuned to ChatGPT’s quirks (it defaults to cheerful marketing-speak and agrees too easily), get three prompts to steal, see an honest comparison against Claude, Gemini and Copilot, and finish with a seven-day plan that turns the course into a habit.
Questions people ask
Which ChatGPT plan should a small business buy?
The Business plan, even with the two-seat minimum. It does not train on your data by default, keeps every account under company control, and adds shared projects and admin tools. Plus with training turned off is a defensible start for a true solo operator.
Does ChatGPT train on what my business types in?
On consumer plans (Free, Go, Plus, Pro) training is on by default and you must opt out. On Business and Enterprise, OpenAI does not train on your data by default. The course walks through the exact settings.
What is a Project and why does it matter?
A Project is a workspace with its own files, chat history and standing instructions. Set one up per recurring job — review replies, estimates, hiring — and you never re-explain your business again. It is the highest-payoff feature in the product.
Is ChatGPT better than Claude, Gemini or Copilot?
It has the broadest toolkit and the most mature custom-assistant ecosystem. Claude has a real case for long careful writing, and Gemini or Copilot win if your business lives entirely in Google or Microsoft. The course gives you an honest decision guide.
How much time does this take?
Setup is about twenty minutes. The seven-day plan is 20–40 minutes a day, most of it work you would be doing anyway — just faster.
