MCM360 Updates — August 2026: A Smarter AI Receptionist, Multi-Channel AI Employees & More
Every few weeks the MCM360 Marketing Portal picks up new capability behind the scenes — some of it visible right away, some of it quiet infrastructure that just makes things work better. Here’s what’s new since our last update, in plain English, with no tech jargon required.
Your AI Receptionist Sounds More Natural
The voice engine behind your AI Receptionist got a real upgrade. Calls handled by your AI Receptionist now sound smoother and more conversational, with noticeably better handling of names — a common weak spot for automated phone systems. Businesses that want an even more distinctive sound now have the option of a custom voice instead of the standard one.
In plain English: if your customers already talk to your AI Receptionist, the calls should feel a little less “robotic” starting now — no setup required on your end.
Your AI Employee Can Now Act Differently Across Channels
If you’re using an AI Employee to handle web chat, text messages, or social DMs, it can now be set up to respond a little differently depending on where the conversation is happening — a quick, casual reply on a text thread, a more detailed answer on your website chat. Same brain, tuned per channel.
In plain English: your AI Employee gets smarter about matching the tone of the conversation to where it’s happening. If you don’t have an AI Employee yet and want to see whether it fits your business, ask me about access.
A Smoother First Few Weeks for New Clients
New clients onboarding into the Marketing Portal now get a clearer, more visual picture of what’s been set up so far and what’s coming next — plus one-click prompts for the next logical step, right inside the portal, instead of buried in an email.
In plain English: if you’re a newer client, your first few weeks should feel less like a black box and more like a checklist you can actually see progress on.
Text Messaging Compliance Got Easier
Any business that texts customers in the U.S. is required to register that phone number for compliance (it’s an industry-wide carrier rule, not an MCM one). That registration process now has clearer in-platform guidance and status tracking, so it’s obvious where a number stands instead of guessing.
In plain English: if you use text messaging for review requests or follow-ups, this is backend plumbing that keeps your texts actually delivering — nothing you need to act on unless I reach out about your specific setup.
Faster Tools for Building Forms and Lists
Behind the scenes, the tools used to build intake forms and manage customer lists in your CRM got several speed-ups — duplicating a list instead of rebuilding it from scratch, copying a landing page link in one click, and building multi-section forms more easily.
In plain English: this is mostly a “my side of the desk” improvement — it means I can build and adjust your intake forms and follow-up lists faster when we’re setting things up or making changes.
Questions about any of this, or want to know if a feature above is worth adding to your account? Just ask — that’s what the monthly check-in is for. And if you want a plain-English primer on how AI tools like these actually work, the MCM360 Academy has free courses built for owners, not marketers.
Common Questions
Do I need to do anything to get these updates?
No. These updates apply automatically to the tools already active on your account. The only exception is anything marked as an add-on or upgrade — those require a quick conversation first so we can make sure it actually fits what your business needs.
Will this change how much I’m paying?
No. Routine platform updates like these are included in your existing plan. Pricing only changes if you and I agree to add a new service or upgrade tier, and that’s always a conversation first, never a surprise on an invoice.
How often does the Marketing Portal get updated?
New capability rolls in continuously behind the scenes, but we only publish a roundup like this one when there’s enough client-facing change to be worth your time reading — usually every few weeks to a month.
What is an AI Employee, and do I already have one?
An AI Employee is an AI assistant that handles conversations for your business — answering web chat, replying to texts, or responding on social media — under your brand. Not every account has one active yet. If you’re not sure whether yours does, ask me and I’ll check.
Why do I have to register my phone number for texting?
It’s a carrier-wide requirement (called A2P registration) for any business sending text messages in the U.S., meant to cut down on spam texts. It’s not specific to MCM or to your account — every business using business texting has to do it, and we handle the setup for you.
My AI Receptionist calls sound different now — is something broken?
No, that’s expected. The voice engine behind your AI Receptionist was upgraded to sound more natural, so calls may sound noticeably smoother than before. If anything sounds off or a call didn’t go the way you expected, let me know and I’ll take a look.
Can I request a specific voice for my AI Receptionist?
Custom voice options are now available for businesses that want a more distinctive sound than the standard voice. If you’re interested, ask me and we can talk through what’s available and whether it makes sense for your business.
